We have opened for the holiday season! The Scavenger Hunt will be available on Friday December 7th. The rain set us back a little in getting everything done. Craig has worked long hours getting the front electronic display perfected. Kim, Kris and Sue Stowe put in many hours getting all the displays just right and Grandma Susan has kept us all fed and supplied with parts. The grandkids Joe, Jill and Micaela plus Jeff Stowe also contributed in the work to bring you a great holiday experience.
It’s free! Including the photo print! But they need donation and support by voting for them!
What?! Another outlet mall? No, the Paragon Outlets in Livermore, CA will be renamed Livermore Valley Premium Outlets after Simon Property Group, Inc. completed the acquisition of Paragon Outlets in Livermore, CA and Grand Prairie, TX.
This outlet mall has become the shopping hot spot for San Francisco Bay Area, leaving the Guilroy Outlet Mall in the dust.
For more details, please check out the Dublin Guide at http://www.arounddublinblog.com/2012/12/livermore-valley-premium-outlet/.
This 512 thousand square foot shopping center is not Dublin business may give some hint to the city of Dublin. The residents in East Dublin may find it more closer and more convenient to shop here than in West Dublin as it takes only 5 minutes to cross the highway 580 to get to the mall. Yes, the heavy traffic affects Dublin residents, but the tax income has nothing to do with the city of Dublin. People in Dublin once voted against iKea. Some saw this as “being short-sighted”. In a report by Karen Stepper at http://www.blakehunt.com/040105.php, you find: “Given a green light by the Dublin City Council more than a year ago to build a store at the Hacienda Drive interchange with Interstate 580, Ikea officials initially hoped to open a 317,000-square-foot store by fall 2006. ” Do you want to find out what happened later? You may want to check it out with the city council if you do care.
Residents in Dublin love to shop locally to support local businesses. However, they also care about their own pocket and the environment and their time schedules. To shop for Asian food, people in East Dublin won’t go all the way to 99 Ranch in Dublin, but go to 99 Ranch in Pleasanton instead. They won’t go to refuel at West Dublin gas stations but those in Pleasanton.
Residents in East Dublin are sticking out their necks waiting for more local business centers, gas stations to be built soon in the East. When can we see them appear more often in the city council meeting agenda? Hopefully soon! City development planning is an art, and it is expected to be better in the 21st century in this most developed country in the world. Is Dublin included?
In our mailbox recently, we are pleased to notice that The Independent, a local newspaper has been delivered to Dublin people since some time ago (the latest issue is Volume XLIX, Number 42! I see “Your Local News Source Since 1963”, older than me!).
If you want to have it in your mailbox continuously, you may go to http://www.independentnews.com or call (925)447-8700. Or just go there to check out its latest issue online.
This paper covers Dublin, Livermore, Pleasanton and Sunol.(Although the website does not mention Dublin in their header, Dublin seems to have been included recently). Well, from the very beginning, I believe that these cities should be combined or working closely with each other to improve the local people’s live. We love Dublin also because of the good things we can share in Pleasanton, Livermore, and Sunol. We Dublin people love shopping at Costco in Livermore, Stoneridge Shopping Center, Walmart and 99Ranch Chinese Super Market (even though we also have one in Dublin ) in Pleasanton, while people from these cities also enjoy the convenience of Barns and Nobles, BestBuy , iMax, Targets in Dublin!
As we can find that there are not enough reports about Dublin, we hope that our warm response will encourage this local newspaper to increase Dublin coverage. Dublin, nice Dublin, is really expanding at an pleasantly unexpected speed into a bright future.

You are invited to visit Sorrento at Dublin Ranch Sorrento Community Yard Sale at the Sorrento Clubhouse Lawn – Saturday, October 2nd – 8am to 12pm. You will sure find the things you love at a great price.
Location:3538 Capoterra Way, Dublin, CA. Google Map.
Event Report Update: The Yard Sale was fun. That was a great chance to know the neighbors too. The actual sale was at the Club House parking lot instead of the lawn (sorry if you missed it. We’ll do better next time.) The Huang family sold a few items but bought items for the kids. It was not really for the profit but for fun and better communication.
Some nice photos of this Yard Sale.
